Financement du site

Bonjour à tous ! 
 
Comme vous le savez peut-être, le financement du site a toujours été un sujet épineux... 
Beaucoup de gens pensent qu'on se fait du pognon de fou grâce à la publicité mais la réalité est toute autre, malheureusement... 
En vrai, la publicité rapporte environ 1 euro par mois (quand les affaires marchent, comme on dit) et Google ne paie qu'au bout de 70 ou 75 euros.
Depuis que le site existe (1997 sous un autre nom), je ne crois avoir reçu que 2 ou 3 paiements de Google à tout casser.
 
Sauf que les coûts d'hébergement explosent ! 
J'ai dû changé d'hébergeur (qui me coûtait environ 120 euros par an, ce qui est peu) parce que celui-ci ne mettait plus à jour ses serveurs et ne fournissait plus aucun service client ! Merci Yulpa !  Au départ, c'était une entreprise associative très sympa (web4all), puis une vraie entreprise, mais elle s'est faite racheter par une grosse boîte qui voulait juste rentrer le pognon sans investir... Du coup, le site est resté en jachère pendant presque 2 ans parce que je ne pouvais plus le mettre à jour vers Joomla 4 et 5 et le support PHP était archi périmé.
J'ai donc dû réinvestir pour changer d'hébergeur, alors même que le premier était déjà payé ! 
Je suis passé chez O2switch qui proposait une offre alléchante avec un tarif unique de 6€ / mois HT (sauf que je paye la TVA, donc il faut rajouter 21%...). Le service est beaucoup mieux sauf que voilà, l'histoire se répète et eux aussi viennent de se faire racheter par une grosse boîte ! 
Ils m'annoncent donc qu'ils me passent d'une offre à 6€ à une offre à 24€ ! 
Apparemment, je pourrai (peut-être) repasser à l'offre 1er prix à 7€ mais le site sera relégué sur un serveur pourri de seconde zone... 
Bon, j'ai payé pas mal de mois d'avance (plus mes 2 noms de domaine) mais ça fait un peu peur... car si je me retrouve à devoir payer 400€ d'ici 6 mois, le site fermera ses portes définitivement, j'en suis désolé. Autant payer 150€ / an pour donner des tutos gratuits sur le web, c'est déjà de l'altruisme, autant 400€ (et être obligé d'arrêter de manger... ), c'est plus possible !

Mais alors quelle solution ?   
Bonne question, j'ai mis en vente notre dernier jeu : Rabidja's Revenge, qui est une tuerie sur Game Boy Color, mais sans pub, il ne se vend pas (mais vraiment pas du tout : 0 vente en 1 mois)...
Donc voilà l'état actuel des choses. Si vous avez des idées !

As you may know, website funding has always been a thorny issue...
Many people think you make a ton of money from advertising, but the reality is quite different, unfortunately...
In reality, advertising brings in about €1 per month (when business is good, as they say) and Google only pays after €70 or €75.
Since the site has existed (1997 under a different name), I think I've only received 2 or 3 payments from Google at the most.

Except that hosting costs are skyrocketing!
I had to change hosts (which cost me about €120 per year, which isn't much) because they were no longer updating their servers and no longer providing any customer service! Thanks, Yulpa! It started as a very nice nonprofit (web4all), then became a real business, but it was bought out by a big company that just wanted to make money without investing... As a result, the site lay fallow for almost two years because I could no longer update it to Joomla 4 and 5, and the PHP support was completely outdated.
So I had to reinvest to change hosts, even though the first one was already paid for!I switched to O2switch, which offered a tempting deal with a flat rate of €6/month excluding VAT (except that I pay VAT, so I have to add 21%...). The service is much better, except that history is repeating itself, and they too have just been bought out by a big company!
So they announced that they're moving me from a €6 deal to a €24 deal!
Apparently, I'll be able to (maybe) switch back to the low-cost €7 deal, but the site will be relegated to a crappy second-rate server...
Well, I've paid for quite a few months in advance (plus my two domain names), but it's a bit scary... because if I end up having to pay €400 within six months, the site will shut down permanently, I'm sorry. Paying €150 a year to give free tutorials online is altruistic in itself, but paying €400 (and having to stop eating...) is no longer an option!

So what's the solution?
Good question. I've put our latest game up for sale: Rabidja's Revenge, which is a blast on the Game Boy Color, but without ads, it's not selling (really not at all: 0 sales in 1 month)...
So that's the current state of affairs. If you have any ideas!
